Remember my food processor problems? Well, I wasn't about to use it this weekend, so I pulled out my new and that has never been used manual slicer. As I was slicing potato's...then carrots...and some onions, I was thinking of what I would write on my blog today. I thought I might fool you and tell you I sliced off my finger, because it's a pretty precarious piece of equipment.
It did not take a minute after that when I almost took part of my left "ring finger"..off. A nice chubby piece of skin. Some of it hung on. So I tucked it all back together and and wrapped in a paper towel and let it bleed out for a bit. Put a band aid on it...and am hoping for the best.
Just when you are trying to be funny, it comes back and bites you in the ass. In my case ...my finger.
balonie..... going..what the hell......

Good grief, Joanie!!! It makes my knees turn to jelly just to read about the finger. Squemish I am--and that squemed me right out!! I am missing 1/4 of my right index finfer-- please be careful. Keep that bandage on for 3 days and it will heal--don't keep taking the bandage off and on as everytime you do that, it causes the cut to open. Just put some Neosporin on it, bandage it up and leave it alone--don't look at it until Thursday. Okay?
Oh my God! Eeeeeep! Take care of that!
So one day I agreed to make waffle cut potatoes for the family. Zack offered to do the slicing, but because it's a dangerous critter I told him I would do it because I didn't want him to slice off a finger.
You guessed it. I ended up slicing part of my finger off! So much for being the great expert potato slicer!
Haa...thanks for thinking about my finger....it's doing fine so far. I'm taking off the bandaid tonight to let it air out...as my mom used to say. Then it will be a flappy dead piece of skin that hooks on to every damn thing. Damn those mandolins.
I think the problem was, I was watching the Ten Commandments in the kitchen, and had blogging on my mind....and then the when the sea parted...so did my finger.
I'm thinking of your finger too. Don't let anyone near it with a stapler! I hope it feels better soon!
Oh, Joan! Are we kindred spirits? I bought a "slicing Glove" because of my tendency of doing the same thing. Right now I am nursing a hole in my left pinkie - the result of sewing sleeping masks!
....this is EXACTLY WHY I "let" Hubby do most of the cooking...Hahaa...I have one of those things but I Refuse to use it...
Jude's right...leave it alone till about Thursday...
Don't Pick At IT!!Hahaaa
